To my Mom, my best friend, the person who has always known me best, guided me through the worst, and believed in me no matter what. A poem for you, to honour your soul's transition:
There is a place in my heart that I had saved just for you,
And while it will always be there, it feels quite new.
It can no longer be touched by your physical presence,
No longer feel warmed by your jokes and Amazon presents.
What remains are 40 years of memories and unconditional love.
What remains are sparkles you left everywhere, now viewed from above.
And despite my heart's almost unbearable gaping hole,
I know that you always have, and always will, live in my soul.
I love you so, so much Mom.
